Dr. Colleen E. Carney is an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, Director of the Sleep and Depression Laboratory, and the Leader of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies Behavioral Sleep Medicine group. She is one of leading experts in the treatment of comorbid insomnias. Recently Dr. Carney was the featured guest on the season premiere of Netflix’s A User’s Guide to Cheating Death. Dr. Carney has provided over 150 training workshops worldwide in the area of cognitive behavioural treatment of comorbid insomnia; she has over 100 publications including nine insomnia books and the only self-help CBT-I book written for those with mood, anxiety and/or chronic pain issues. She is a passionate advocate for improving access to effective treatment.
