Call for Calm community stories: share your mental health journey

We’re looking for real people to share real stories about their mental health experiences. If Calm has been a support for you, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re on a mission to tell the company’s most inspiring inside story — your story. We’re plan to feature members of the Calm community in video profiles that will be spotlighted across our social channels. Why? To spark a conversation on specific mental health challenges, and inspire those in need to seek support.

If you’re interested and open to telling your story, we invite you to answer a few short questions here.

What kinds of stories are we looking for?

Real ones.

These are not “testimonials” to sell the benefits of Calm, or before-and-after stories that need to present everything as perfect. Instead, we want to share your true, authentic story, revealing your mental health struggles and what you’re doing to work with them.

Calm is not the focus of the story. What’s in focus is you, your real-life experience, your perspective and voice, and the wisdom you’ve gained along the way. The more candid and authentic the storytelling, the more inspired others might be to seek support for similar challenges.

What’s the process?

  • Once we review the submissions above, we’ll select a handful of people to be featured, based on alignment with the intentions & expectations of the project.

  • Then, we’ll schedule a remote interview (via Zoom) to better understand your story. During that interview & conversation, we’ll share details around how this project will come to life!

What about privacy?

  • Please share your submission knowing that it will not be used unless you are selected to be featured and both you and Calm decide to move forward. The submission itself will be reviewed only by a handful of Calm staff. You can submit it anonymously, if you’d prefer, with only your email address as a point of contact.

  • If you’re selected, we will ask you to sign a release granting us permission to share your story.

  • The profile doesn’t need to feature your real or full name. You could just be Judy M. from Kansas, or however you’d like to describe yourself.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at calm.com/support.
